ADVOCACY CHANGE ANNOUNCEMENT
Effective April 2026
We are dedicating all available time and resources to advancing legislation that protects & sustains HCBS home caregivers across Arizona’s ALTCS population. This includes parents, siblings, grandparents & non-relative caregivers - whom ALL play a vital role in keeping our vulnerable individuals safe, supported & living at home.
Our mission is clear:
My goal is to safeguard & strengthen HCBS waivers so that Arizona’s developmentally disabled ALTCS population can remain at home with their caregivers as required by Federal law (Olmstead Act).
ALTCS is the medical & financial GUARDRAIL for our disability community in Arizona. Whether you’re a parent of an ALTCS child of ANY age or an ALTCS adult, or guardian to an ALTCS adult, the medical caregiving needs are the priority for me as lawfully required.
No matter what “other groups” are saying or “whispering” about, EVERY approved ALTCS member has the right to live at home with a caregiver of their choosing (or a parent if it’s a child).
As a Latina, Native American mom with vaccine injury Autism, MY conservative pro-life views don’t stop after pregnancy, but rather I respect the whole life of each vulnerable individual.
WE do have a voice among conservatives, independents & yes, some democrat voters who share the same goals with respect to HCBS home caregivers.
My personal beliefs align with the Republican platform because it is the pro-life platform. It is time to REMIND our conservative counterparts that pro-life doesn’t end at birth, rather it is a beautiful lifelong commitment to those entrusted to us.
I believe that we have a duty to uphold a pro-life, pro-family standard of care using the HCBS waivers as adjudicated by Federal law; this ensures that all caregivers are protected, supported & able to continue their work without disruption, unnecessary barriers, or loss of support.
We protect & showcase our pro-life platform when we ensure that our caregivers are protected which in turn protects all of our ALTCS loved ones.
We will be providing opportunities to help in a very specific & targeted manner.

In addressing the toxic & unhealthy patterns of the last several years in Arizona - I will not participate in “divisive tactics” or “separating out” who is “more” disabled because that is discriminatory & has been happening on a wide scale. My choice to step up & articulate the needs is because too many hands in the cookie jar & too many groups wanting to toss one another under the bus. ALTCS / HCBS Is for everyone regardless of age - qualification is what drives Federal requirements.
As a mom with autism & parent to ALTCS members, I feel I am the only one willing to protect the ALTCS community as a whole rather than divide it amongst unnecessary & discriminatory state agency policies or lobbyists which is causing undue fear in our community.
